Wrapping Up the Fair & Looking Ahead
What a week! The 2026 Adams County Fair has come and gone, and we are still smiling about it. From the clatter of the threshing machine to the glow of the forge at the blacksmith shop, the Olde Tyme Area was buzzing from opening day straight through to closing. THANK YOU to every volunteer who hammered, cooked, demonstrated, and welcomed visitors, and to everyone who stopped by to experience a slice of rural Adams County history. We could not do it without you.
News & Highlights
The fair may be over, but our season is just getting started. Here is what is coming up: Lewis Round Barn Open House — August 9, 2026 (1 PM – 5 PM) Step inside the historic Lewis Round Barn for free tours of our antique farm implements, hand tools, and 1930s-era exhibits. Volunteers will be on hand to share stories and answer questions. Admission is free — all are welcome! Fourth Grade Open Day — September 17, 2026 (9 AM – 1 PM) Local fourth graders visit our heritage sites for hands-on lessons in agricultural history. Fall Flea Market & Craft Show — September 19–20, 2026 Our popular autumn market returns to the Adams County Fairgrounds! Sat 7:30 AM – 5 PM, Sun 8 AM – 3 PM. Vendors, collectors, and craft enthusiasts — mark your calendars. Donor Appreciation Day — October 11, 2026 (1 PM – 5 PM) An open house at the Lewis Round Barn honoring the generous donors who made the restoration possible. Light refreshments served — all are welcome.

The Heart of the Olde Tyme Area

This month we are spotlighting not one member, but the entire crew of volunteers who made the Olde Tyme Area shine during fair week. From firing up the saw mill at dawn to serving up the famous FREE ham and bean dinner on Sunday, this team carried the spirit of the association all week long. If you see one of them at an upcoming event, give them a thank-you — they earned it.
